Because of expected record crowds, Salt Lake City International Airport is urging passengers to arrive two hours early during the upcoming "UEA weekend."

The school holiday created by the Utah Education Association's annual convention has come to mean, for many, "Utah Escapes to Anaheim" or "Utahns Explore Away."

The airport expects 25,000 passengers per day from Wednesday through Sunday.

So travelers are urged to arrive two hours before their scheduled departure time to park, check luggage and navigate security.

To save additional time, passengers are encouraged to print or upload boarding passes and to check flight times prior to arriving at the airport.

In addition, airport officials recommend going to the Transportation Security Administration website, tsa.gov, to verify which items are permitted in carry-on bags.

Also, the airport notes that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones have been banned on aircraft because of safety hazards.

Those phones cannot be transported by an individual, in carry-on luggage or in checked baggage on flights in or from the United States.
